In preparation for report cards and reflecting on the first quarter of the year, we took today's class to reflect on our core competencies. We first 'unpacked' what each of the competencies mean. Then gathering evidence from September onwards we reflected on areas we are doing well in and areas of growth heading towards Christmas. You were to choose one area to reflect on in class today.

After watching the documentary on Friday we reflected on the message and persuasive techniques in the film. We first began class with a sentence structure, punctuation, and grammar reminder. Then we wrote an extended paragraph response to the following question: "The documentary “Breaking the Cycle” discusses the differences in prisons in Norway and the United States. In thinking about ethos, pathos, and logos, did the documentary persuade you to believe Norwegian prisons are better than the United States prisons? Why or why not?"

Oct 30, 2019Today in class we watched the documentary "Breaking the Cycle". I asked you to consider while we were watching the documentary "Did the documentarian use ethos, pathos, or logos, to convey their perspective of American and Norwegian prisons?" We will reflect and respond to this documentary on Friday.
