Part 2: Interview
Part 2 Required: Conduct an Interview
- To find one ‘expert’ interview. This would be someone who works or practices in the field that you are researching.
- Contact your interviewee via a professional email or letter (this gets handed in).
- Provide the contact information (name/address & email) of the person and organization that you connected with on the shared google doc.
- Develop an interview guide consisting of a minimum of 10 questions plus 3-4 or more unique to your career which are developed by you.
- What do you want to know about this career? What interests you?
- Optional: Find a second interview with a professional organization, union or academic organization who supports or trans individuals working in the field you are researching.

- Website
- PowerPoint
- Podcast
- Vlog
- Prezi
- Poster Board
- Demonstration in your areas of passion (a sports skill, music piece, art piece)
- Scrapbook
- All images must relate to subject matter.
- Less print – more big ideas and concepts, that the presenter must explain and make meaning of.
- Everything in the presentation has to have a purpose – it should connect to the experience or knowledge of the career you are investigating.
- It is likely – but not necessary that your presentation should be organized by Themes
- Make sure all references (online and interviews) are listed in your presentation and are referred to.
- Must engage your audience. Use questions, connections etc… Identify an experience or idea that your peers (classmates) will relate to and use that to create a connection.
- Consider the use of videos or music (purposeful) to connect the ideas and themes in your presentation with your audience.
- Is there an activity that you could utilize to connect with your audience?
- Can you dress the part? At the very minimum dress in business attire – if not in style of the career you are investigating.
Nov 19, 2019Today I introduced the final assignment for the class. We are going to call this our 'Passion Inquiry Project'. This will act as a basis for your capstone project in grade 12 and will act as a cumulating project for your Career-Life Education course, with the exception of a few final pieces that will be covered in January with Mr. Sharun.
This page is going to organized in sections and in matter of due dates rather than the usual format of date by date updates. It is your responsibility for the remainder of the class to stay on top of the due dates. |
